The RoomGuard is intended for monitoring many variables in unmanned server rooms. The Roomguard contains a scorch and a VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) detector. It is rugged and low-cost, and therefore especially suitable for embedding in a network with (a large number of) other sensors.
The model requires no individual calibration and allows separation of regular volatile organics (such as alcohols, acetone and ammonia) from volatiles emanating from scorching materials. This system is incorporated in the FlexProbe monitoring system to detectproblems long before a fire develops and the fire extinguishing apparatus destroys the equipment. The discrimination between scorch and volatile organics is needed to prevent false alarms. It is rugged and low-cost, and therefore especially suitable for embedding in a network with (a large number of) other sensors. The scorch analysis is applied to all devices without requiring calibration.
Highly sensitive scorch detection is not aimed at fire control. It allows operators to intervene in time before an actual fire starts. In case of actual fire the extinguishing/sprinkler system may destroy production facilities leading to severe losses.
The Roomguard has it’s successor in a more flexible/modular system called the FlexProbe, commercially available via AuxZenze .
The CannaSniffer has been developed in close cooperation with the Dutch Police. This apparatus is capable of detecting cannabis plants. It is a stand-alone, portable system and also illustrates our ability to transfer calibration models from the laboratory to multiple units using just software (no individual chemical calibration required).
